SANCTUARY DRIVE RESERVE

Public BBQ

Sanctuary Drive Reserve strikes that perfect balance between suburban convenience and natural retreat that Mawson Lakes does so well. The centrepiece lake, when properly filled, provides a serene backdrop that transforms this modest reserve into something rather special. The playground proves surprisingly inclusive, accommodating toddlers through to older children with thoughtful equipment placement and decent shade coverage. What sets this spot apart is the walking trail that meanders around the grounds, nothing too ambitious, but ideal for a gentle stroll while keeping an eye on the kids. The undercover picnic area with its accompanying barbecue facilities makes for comfortable family gatherings, though visitors should plan accordingly as there are no toilet facilities on-site. The real charm lies in the abundant birdlife and native flora that call this place home. It's one of those rare suburban pockets where you might actually spot something interesting while the children burn off energy.
